Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Postdoc in International Business at the Department of International Economics, Government and Business (EGB).The expected starting date is in the Spring 2025.EGB is a multidisciplinary department that conducts high-quality research in the fields of international business and political science with direct relevance to business, policymakers, and the public. Research at the department focuses on two principal focus areas, Business & Government and International Business, in relation to societal challenges. These challenges include the consequences of inequality; the impact of technological change and digital transformation; the ethical dilemmas facing MNEs, regulating societal challenges, the changes brought about by emerging markets and the rise of Asia; the consequences of global shifts for public policy, and the relationship between business and democracy. Faculty at EGB apply advanced quantitative and qualitative methods to generate systematic knowledge about business-government relations and international business relations. To learn more about the research and education of the department, please visit the departmental website.Much of EGB’s teaching is affiliated with the BSc/MSc in International Business and Politics (IBP); the BSc/MSc in International Business (IB); and the BSc in International Business in Asia (IBA).
The postdoc is to be recruited for a project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe program entitled “Valuing Public Goods in a Populist World: A Comparative Analysis of Network Dynamics and Societal Outcomes”: VALPOP. You should have an interest in the overall theme of the project, which is about how populism influences the accessibility and valuation of public goods. Regarding methodological skills, you are expected to undertake mostly quantitative research. Required quantitative skills are capabilities to work with R or Python. It is an advantage if you have undertaken research focusing on the firm level. The research will be undertaken in English, and the broader dissemination of the project results will be in Danish and English.The postdoc is a non-tenured position for a 4-year period with teaching obligation of 25 %. The teaching also involves a teaching qualification program, HETEP, which is useful for future placement.Qualifications
The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent in the social sciences, preferably international business or strategy. In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on research potential. Emphasis is placed on research relevant to the job description.
