Offer DescriptionThe person recruited will be responsible for carrying out behavioural and neurophysiological neuroscience experiments and studying neuronal circuits in order to study the effects of stress on neurophysiology and cognitive processes such as memory in mice. In addition, the person recruited will be responsible for analysing the results obtained, based on computational analyses using scripts developed with software such as Python, ABBA or BraiAN.Conduct experiments based on behavioural neuroscience techniques (fear conditioning, novel object recognition, Morris water maze, open filed) and circuit studies (stereotactic surgery, chemogenetics, optogenetics, neuronal activity recordings by fibre photometry, activity recordings by minuature microscipes implanted in the head).
Develop the tools needed to analyse the results of neuronal activity recordings.
Exploiting and presenting the results of analyses, and guaranteeing their follow-up and quality.
Help students learn the basics of experimental neuroscience.The post is funded by a grant from the Alzheimer’s Association. The project is led by Dr Bianca A. Silva. Our team is part of the Institut de Pharmacologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire ( ), a joint public research institute of the CNRS, INSERM and the Université Côte d’Azur. The Institute is located in Sophia Antipolis, a technology park on the outskirts of Nice that is home to numerous biotechnology and healthcare companies, providing a dynamic environment for scientific research.
