The Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University, Denmark invites applications for one or two, 2-years Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions focused on Cryptography. The position is funded by the ERC. The starting date is 1 October 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time (37 hours/week) on-site role located at Åbogade 34, 8200 Aarhus N, Denmark for a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on cryptography in collaboration with the Cryptography and Security Research Group at Aarhus University. The focus of the position will be secure multiparty computation (MPC) focusing in particular on pseudorandom-correlation generators, homomorphic secret-sharing, etc.Documentable previous research experience with the topics (in the form of publications at the top-venues of the field such as IACR CRYPTO, IACR EUROCRYPT, IACR ASIACRYPT, IACR TCC, ACM CCS etc.) is an advantage.Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty members and fellow researchers to develop novel cryptographic protocols.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students working on related research projects.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals in computer science and related fields.
  • Participate in academic activities such as seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay informed of the latest developments in the field.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in computer science or similar.
  • Documentable research experience within the topic of the position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in formulating and executing own research projects
