Job description

Offer DescriptionIn this project, the successful candidate will devise and implement new methodologies to account for effects of disorder in strongly correlated materials by developing a new approach that combines Dynamical Mean-Field Theory (DMFT) with an other approach inheritated from statistical physics.– Investigate the metal-insulator phase-diagram of this Anderson-Hubbard model on a finite Cayley tree and then on several lattices in dimension d=2 and 3.
– Apply this new approach to first-principles Hamiltonians and perform realistic calculations for correlated materials with disorder.
– Use supercomputers to perfom the calculations.
– Exploit and publish the results obtained. The successful candidate will be assigned to the SEM team of the Quantum Chemistry and Physics Laboratory (LCPQ – UMR5626).The LCPQ, with approximately 30 permanent staff members, is a joint research unit (UMR5626) under the supervision of two institutions: CNRS and the University Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier (UT3). It is located on the campus of the University Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Physics Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Physics Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Physics Education Level PhD or equivalentLanguages FRENCH Level BasicResearch Field Physics » Condensed matter properties Years of Research Experience 1 – 4Research Field Physics » Solid state physics Years of Research Experience 1 – 4Research Field Physics » Surface physics Years of Research Experience 1 – 4Additional InformationEligibility criteria– A PhD in physics (theoretical physics or condensed matter physics).
