The Pedersen group at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated postdoc with an interest in working on PIN auxin transporting membrane transporters and preferably with a proven track record in the area of structural and/or functional analysis of membrane proteins.Expected start date and duration of employmentThe position is available from 1 February 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. There is funding for 2 years of employment. In case further external funding is procured within the academic area the candidate is estimated obviously qualified for, an extension can be possible for up to a total maximum of 4 years of employment as a postdoc.Job descriptionThe position seeks to strengthen the laboratory of Bjørn Pedersen aiming at understanding the molecular mechanisms behind auxin transport at a molecular level. The selected candidate will investigate membrane proteins involved in auxin transport using a range of methods centered on structural biology and biophysics.Your profileWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated postdoc with an interest in working on plant membrane proteins using a variety of biophysics and structural biology techniques.The candidate must have:

  • A proven track record in the area of structural biology with experience in membrane protein purification techniques and Cryo-Electronmicroscopy.

A successful candidate has:

  • A relevant Ph.D. degree and a solid and documented background in structural biology and biochemistry.
  • Experience with in vitro biophysics and/or cryo-EM techniques is a plus.
  • Expertise in membrane transporter related research areas is of advantage.

Finally, applicants should:

  • Be ambitious,
  • Show strong collaborative skills
  • Should be able to take initiatives and responsibility within the work environment.
