Company:

Institut Institut Du Cerveau – Inserm U1127

Job description

Offer DescriptionPOSTDOC POSITION : Crosstalk between tumorigenesis and microglia developmentParis Brain InstituteThe of the Paris Brain Institute is looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented post-doc with interest in neuro-immunology in the context of brain development and of pathologies such as brain tumors and epilepsy. We offer an initial 3-year contract with extension options. The candidate will lead a project funded by the French National Cancer Institute, aiming to decipher how transformation of normal cell into glioma tumor cells during brain development impacts the development of microglia and shapes its activation state and the antitumor immune response. The project has a particular interest in oncogene-induced senescence and the role of its associated secretome in the cross-talk with microglia. The ultimate goal is to develop strategies to manipulate the immune microenvironment of brain tumors in order to improve immunotherapy efficacy in these cancers. The project includes forefront technologies such as single-cell omics, spatial omics, and functional validation in patient-derived brain organoids and murine models. The ideal candidate should be fluent in both spoken and written English, have excellent teamwork skills and expertise (preferred) in murine experimental models for pathological brain development or tumorigenesis, microscopy, single-cell RNAseq, cell culture. Experience in immunology or bioinformatics analysis of RNAseq will also be an asset. Prior experience in brain tumors is not required, and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. The candidate will work in close collaboration with a research engineer and a bioinformatics engineer (already hired), as well as with other researchers based in IBENS ( ).In addition to the exciting research project, we offer a great lab environment at the , a leading research institution in Europe, with a diverse range of core facilities and an excellent neuroscience environment. The lab is well connected with the hospital and has access to worldwide unique cohorts of brain tumor samples. The lab will support postdoctoral trainees in their scientific careers.Candidates should send their CV along with a cover letter explaining their research interests and e-mail addresses of two references, including her/his PhD supervisor to Franck Bielle ( ). The deadline to apply is April 30, 2024.Institution : Institut Institut Du Cerveau – Inserm U1127Description of the structure: The internal scientific strategy of PAris brain institute is axed on our capacity to promote excellent basic and applied science, but especially to favour the emergence of innovative concepts in the Institute. The Institut du Cerveau – ICM has thus chosen to organize research around transversal and pluridisciplinary programs in order to meet the challenge of understanding nervous system diseases. Such an organization implicates all Institut du Cerveau – ICM researchers in the scientific/technological options and reinforces collaboration among the participants. The creation of thematic scientific groups encourages internal collaborations, permits the development of pluridisciplinary approaches, assures technological innovation in the core services and favours risk taking. An excellent research centre is above all an ensemble of projects sharing a common vision.
