Job title:
Postdoc of Ice and Climate
Company:
KU SCIENCE FAK SEK
Job description
A two-year postdoc position is open at the Section for the Physics of Ice, Climate and Earth at the Niels Bohr Institute. The postdoc will be part of a Canadian-Danish research group focussing on the Müller ice cap in Northern Canada. We need to model the dynamics of the ice cap and its outlet glaciers to understand the relationship between the history of the ice cap and the regional climatic conditions throughout the Holocene and maybe further back in time. The modelling will be supported by a 600 m deep ice core to be drilled during the spring of 2025. Climate proxies from the ice core can be used to drive the glacier models. In turn, glacier models may deliver surface elevation changes of the ice cap which are needed for a proper interpretation of the ice core record. The postdoc’s duties will include research within the field of Ice and Climate as well as teaching. The position may also include performance of other duties like fieldwork on the ice caps.Further information on the Department can be found at . Inquiries about the position can be made to Dorthe Dahl-Jensen ( ) or the head of the Physics of Ice, Climate and Earth, Bo M.
