Job Description:The position holder will conduct finite element modeling with an emphasis on thermal-mechanical analysis of structural components made of fiber/polymer composite materials for non-destructive damage detection and characterization. The position holder will also support the experimental work for model verification and validations.Responsibilities and qualifications
You are expected to work on the following topics:

  • Finite element modeling, preferably using Abaqus, to simulate the thermal-mechanical response of fiber/polymer composite components under different loadings, e.g., thermal and/or mechanical excitations.
  • Development of thermographic testing methods or laboratory experimental validation
  • Investigate new scientific principles and concepts of thermographic methods for potential damage inspection in large-scale composite components.
  • Writing papers for international scientific journals
  • May teach and supervise MSc student projects
  • May participate in the research proposal writing

Preference will be given to applicants that can document:

  • Publication track records in the relevant field
  • Experience in thermography and other NDT techniques
  • Experience in Abaqus under subroutines and code development
  • Experience in mechanical testing of composite materials and/or structures
  • Ability to work with other researchers and engineers in an international working environment
  • Fluency in communicating, reading and writing in English

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
