Offer DescriptionUtrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Economics of Climate Policy with a strong background in applied microeconometrics. The position is part of the NWO Vidi grant for the project “Climate policy for heterogeneous firms”. This project uses economic theory and Dutch firm-level data to study the heterogeneous repercussions of climate policies for firms. As a postdoc, your primary focus will be on applied microeconometric analysis, contributing valuable empirical insights to the project.Your job
Your key tasks will include:
- using firm-level data and advanced microeconometric methods to assess the impact of climate policy;
- presenting results at seminars (internally and externally), workshops and conferences;
- engaging as an active member of the research team and department;
- a limited amount of teaching and/or thesis supervision.

- completed a PhD in Economics (or due to complete in 2025), preferably environmental economics;
- high motivation and a demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality empirical research;
- strong expertise in applied microeconometrics;
- experience working with large datasets, preferably firm-level data;
- the ability to independently carry out research, and effectively collaborate in a team;
- strong communication skills.
Additional InformationBenefitsWe offer:
- a position for 24 months, starting September 2025;
- a working week of 36 hours and a gross monthly salary between €4,537 and €6,209 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale 11 under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU));
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
