Job Description:The Division for Climate and Energy Policy at DTU Management offers one Postdoc position for a two-year period in the Climate Economics and Risk Management section. As our new employee you will participate in cutting-edge research on the acceptance of and the preferences for low-carbon technologies.We are looking for highly qualified and motivated scholars experienced in working with behavioral and preference models, large-scale surveys, data management, and multivariate statistical analysis.The job
The research will be carried out in the context of two projects, but reasonable flexibility is expected to help in other research projects.The two projects are financed by the Innovation Fund Denmark, as a part of the Innomission Investments, which allocate DKK 700 million for mission-driven green partnerships, aiming to address key climate goals by investing in research and innovation. These partnerships will focus on strategic research, talent development, and concrete projects across the value chain, strongly emphasising collaboration across disciplines and industries to achieve sustainable growth and environmental objectives, see.In the Innomission project INNO_SALT, you will contribute to the work package on the preferences for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). You will support estimating preferences for CCS based on surveys.In the Innomission project SAFE, you will contribute to the work package on preference for green aviation fuels. You will support the development of a shorter and longer stated preference survey aimed at airline passengers. Combined with a real-life and survey information experiment, you will assist in estimating preferences for green aviation fuels.Across the two projects, you will have the flexibility to formulate own hypotheses and use the datasets to test those hypotheses. We encourage and support our postdocs to develop and pursue their own research agenda.You will primarily work with these tasks:

  • Supporting the model specification and estimation of preferences for CCS and green aviation fuels
  • Designing a survey for primary data collection to test the models
  • Combine the new CCS survey data with two previous surveys
  • Contribute to the writing of deliverables
  • Contribute to the dissemination of results via scientific publications and conference presentations.

Qualifications
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD in quantitative social science (e.g., economics, sociology, psychology, political science, etc.).To be considered for the position, you must have experience working with survey development and survey data, running statistical models, and writing deliverables and scientific articles.The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • A good publication record
  • Documented experience in acceptance and/or preference models
  • Experience in designing and running large scale surveys
  • Expertise in statistical methods
  • A willingness and ability to work across several datasets

As the projects involve development of surveys in Danish and contact with Danish stakeholders, command of Danish language is seen an advantage but not required. Likewise, previous experience in project management is an advantage. Flexibility and self-motivation are desired skills at DTU.
