Postdoc in in Vitro and in Vivo Evaluation of Energy Materials for the Gut – DTU Health Tech

Job Description:The ‘Drug delivery and Sensor (IDUN)’ section at DTU Health Tech wishes to employ a postdoc within the framework of our highly interdisciplinary activities supported by a Novo Nordisk Foundation Challenge grant named ‘EMGUT – Energy Materials for the Gut’. We are here specifically looking for a person who can initiate activities within in-vitro and in-vivo models for the the gut and the metabolic pathways. This project will expose you to a highly multidisciplinary research field and environment and you will be able to be active all the way from microfluidics development to cell/tissue models.Our section makes use of a toolbox consisting of among others, microdevices, various drug formulation technologies, micro&nano fabrication, electrospinning, coherent anti-stokes Raman scattering microscopy, 3D printing and in vitro and in vivo models. Currently, we are pursuing the vision of ‘swallowing your own doctor’. That is a device or solution that will be able to sample, sense and deliver in the gut – and for this, we need sophisticated in-vitro and in-vivo models.Responsibilities and qualifications

You are motivated by both individual and team accomplishments.You will be responsible for expanding our activities within physiologically relevant in-vitro models to evaluate devices and materials – specifically with respect to toxicity and drug delivery. This will include knowledge and work in centrifugal microfluidics, culturing of human cells, culturing of organoids/spheroids and materials/drug testing. Therefore, it is essential that you have solid knowledge and interdisciplinary experience in: oral drug delivery, cell culturing, microfluidics, and a general understanding of how to develop and implement new in vitro models for oral drug delivery.Your primary tasks will be to:

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is one year.
