Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated researcher for a 3-year postdoctoral position in the field of developmental and reproductive toxicology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research that addresses one of the most pressing challenges in regulatory toxicology today: identifying endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) using innovative methodologies that reduce reliance on traditional animal-based testing. This position is part of our efforts to develop and validate New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), which align with global trends toward more ethical, efficient, and predictive testing strategies for chemical risk assessment.The primary focus of this research is on understanding how early-life exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals can interfere with normal reproductive development and lead to adverse health outcomes, including disease later in life. You will work on advancing the science of endocrine disruption by applying a multidisciplinary approach that integrates experimental work with regulatory science within the field of male reproductive health. The goal is to enhance our capacity to predict endocrine activity and related toxicity in a manner that supports regulatory decision-making.As part of this project, you will utilize a variety of experimental techniques and approaches, including but not limited to: ex vivo organ culture, molecular and histopathological characterization of tissues and organs, in vitro cell culture, large-scale expression analyses and more. Beyond experimental work, you will also play a key role in constructing adverse outcome pathways (AOPs). Your contributions will involve synthesizing experimental evidence and utilizing systematic approaches to create robust and scientifically evidenced AOPs.You will be part of the Molecular & Reproductive Toxicology research group at DTU Food, which works at the intersection of basic research and applied science. The group has a strong focus on early-life chemical exposure, endocrine disruption, and reproductive health. You will join a dynamic and supportive research environment that values collaboration, creativity, and excellence.This position is part of the multinational PARC (Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals) project, a major EU-funded initiative aimed at improving chemical risk assessment across Europe.Responsibilities and qualifications
This position is primarily research-focused but also involves teaching and providing expert advisory support in the hazard and risk assessment of chemicals with suspected endocrine-disrupting properties. The role requires a highly motivated, adaptable individual with strong organizational skills. Collaborative skills are essential, as you will contribute to several large-scale projects and play a central role in coordinating diverse aspects of project collaborations within the group and internationally. Additional responsibilities include:

• Carry out experimental work, including in vitro cell based assays, molecular techniques (RNAscope, RNA-seq, PCR) and histology (e.g. histo-staining, IHC/IF).
• Conduct independent research projects, from initial conception and design through to completion.
• Communicate research results: presenting data at national and international conferences and meetings, writing reports and manuscripts for publication.
• Supervise BSc and/or MSc student. Potentially PhD student(s). Contribute with teaching in the group leader’s educational course(s).
• Support senior risk assessors with research-based advice for Danish authorities.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in relevant fields.We offer
