Job Description:We are seeking an inquisitive and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with a strong background in the development of point of care sensors systems and devices. You will be working at the intersection of device development and clinical practice, collaborating closely with medical professionals and end-users to ensure the developed solution is both user friendly, effective and practical. This project has significant potential to impact patient care and outcomes in emergency medical settings.Responsibilities and qualifications
In this project you will be responsible for the development of the point of care system to be applied in clinical trials, this includes design of final point of care device, sample handling, user interface and documentation for safe use in clinical trials.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the integration of our advanced sensors into a point of care clinical system for clinical trails.
  • Engage in both hands-on experimental work and strategic planning to drive the project forward.
  • Design and develop a handheld diagnostic device for on-site measurements and processing of blood and plasma samples.
  • Integrate electronics and microfluidic components to ensure robust and user-friendly operation

Work closely with a PhD student assigned to the project. * Provide guidance, share expertise, and foster a collaborative research environment that promotes learning and innovation.Teach and supervise BSc and MSc student projects, contributing to their academic and professional growth. * Ensure that research and innovation results are published in scientific journals, patents, and public outreach materials.

  • Develop clinical user operating procedures to support the application of the technology.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field is required. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of biosensor systems, including practical lab experience and a strong publication record in relevant areas.
  • Experience with electrochemical sensors is advantageous but not required.
  • Proficiency in liquid sample handling techniques, such as microfluidics.
  • Experience with device fabrication and integration is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proven track record of tailoring research to address practical, real-world challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and convey complex technical information to a diverse audience.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
