Offer DescriptionDirector of the Institute of Plant Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPG PAS) in Poznan announces open competition for two postdoc positions at the IPG PAS in the framework of the OPUS project (UMO-2022/45/B/NZ9/02135) funded by NCN.(Position ref. number 10/2024)Job details:Number of positions: 02Work location: Institute of Plant Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznań, PolandResearch areas: nanoparticle interaction with plant, plant biotechnologyType of contract: full-time, temporary for up to 3 yearsSalary range: 12 500 PLN (gross)Place of work: IPG PAS, Poznań, PolandStart date: ImmediatelyDeadline: 04-10-2024Required Qualifications * PhD in plant science, plant biotechnology, plant nanotechnology, phytochemistry or a related field.

  • Published at least 2 articles as first author in high impact journals relevant to the position.
  • Good organizational skills and experience working in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience with nanomaterials is an advantage

Main ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidates will be expected to conduct experiments in one or more of the following research areas based on their skills and expertise: * Plant cell and tissue culture

  • Analysis of plant cell viability, reactive oxygen/nitrogen species and phytotoxicity in in vitro plant cells, and seedlings response to nanoparticles
  • Analysis of the uptake of nanoparticles and metal ions in plant cells and seedlings (ICP-MS, TXRF etc)
  • Physicochemical characterization of nanoparticles using relevant techniques
  • Writing high quality research articles, communications, and scientific reports
