Offer DescriptionWe want to check whether the rates of basic chemical reactions – proton and electron transfer – can be changed by placing the molecules in appropriately designed photonic cavities. The studies will include modification of reactivity in both ground and electronically excited states. Various methodologies will be tested, including (i) generating nanocavity-induced shifts of the energies of electronic transitions of the reactants or products and (ii) creating vibrational polaritons in order to affect the multidimensional reaction path. 100% of the work time of Postdoc will be devoted to the realization of the proposed project. The offer is for 12 months.
The successful candidate will benefit in form of the knowledge and methods developed in the laboratory.
We plan to publish the results of the work in high impact factor journals.
The successful candidate will be eligible for all programs at the IPC PAS, including the IPC PAS Young Scientists competition and the IPC PAS Young Scientists Mobility competition.
Institute provides an opportunity to participate in ERASMUS+ programme.Eligibility criteriaThe successful candidate for the postdoctoral position shall, for the full term of their employment within the project, be obligated to maintain compliance with the following conditions:

• the doctoral degree was not awarded by the entity in which employment in this position is planned;
• during the period of receiving this remuneration, will not receive any other remuneration from funds granted as direct costs from research projects financed in NCN competitions;
• during the period of receiving this remuneration, will not receive remuneration from another employer on the basis of an employment contract, including an employer based outside the territory of Poland.

A post-doc position should be understood as a full-time job planned by the project manager for a person starting their academic career who obtained a doctoral degree not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project. This period does not include breaks related to maternity leave, additional maternity leave, leave on the terms of maternity leave, additional leave on the terms of maternity leave, paternity leave, parental leave or parental leave granted on the terms specified in the provisions of the Labor Code or receiving a sickness benefit. or a rehabilitation benefit due to incapacity for work, including due to an illness requiring rehabilitation. In the case of women, the indicated 7-year period may be extended by 18 months for each born or adopted child. A woman can choose a more favorable way of indicating breaks in her research career.Selection processThe Recruitment Commission will take into account the following criteria:

• Competence to carry out specific tasks in the project
• The candidate’s knowledge of spectroscopy and photophysics
• The candidate’s research achievement
• Other achievements (scholarships, awards, etc.)
• Research experience
• Level of English
