Offer DescriptionICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.The successful candidate will be joining the Atomic Quantum Optics group led by Prof. Dr. Morgan Mitchell in an experiment on the interaction of single photons and entangled photon pairs with individual trapped atoms. The experiment aims to study for the first time fundamental light-matter interaction processes at the single-particle level.Financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU-MICIIN(PRTR-C17. I1) and by the Generalitat de Catalunya.RequirementsResearch Field Physics » Optics Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Physics » Other Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsCandidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in experimental atomic physics, quantum optics, or related fields.The candidate should have a proven track record of experimental research with atomic and optical methods, and the ability to lead a small, diverse team of PhD and Master students. Ability to model quantum optical interactions with atoms and to interact with theory collaborators is also desirable.Languages ENGLISH Level ExcellentAdditional InformationBenefitsSalaries for ICFO Postdoctoral positions are assigned by the Selection Committee, based on experience and seniority of the applicant, as well as the assigned tasks and responsibilities within the group. Standard salaries range from a lower level aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships to higher levels aligned with Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowships.The contract is offered for a period of 1 year, renewable.Additionally, a family allowance is also available on request and after corresponding approval for people with family charges in the terms described in the corresponding policy.Eligibility criteriaICFO is an equal opportunity employer.
