Offer DescriptionThe ‘Université Savoie Mont Blanc’ (USMB) has 18 research laboratories spread over three sites (Jacob-Bellecombette, Le Bourget-du-Lac and Annecy-Le-Vieux). These laboratories are recognized, accredited and distinguished, and are involved in close partnerships with major organizations (CNRS, CEA, INRA), international organizations (CERN) and other structures (INES, Institut de la Montagne) that are also at the forefront of innovation. The USMB laboratories are involved in several domains that are very important to regional dynamics: mountains, mechatronics, tourism, image, and energy sectors, as well as health.Located on the Chambéry and Grenoble sites, the ‘Laboratoire Inter-universitaire de Psychologie – Personnalité, Cognition, Changement Social’ (LIP-PC2S) is a research unit dedicated to the analysis of cognition, behavior and human interactions in their various contexts. LIP-PC2S is equipped with experimental facilities, psychological, physiological, and behavioral measurement tools, and advanced statistical data processing tools. Research methodologies are mainly quantitative (experiments, surveys). The applicative relevance of research carried out at LIP-PC2S is high in the fields of (i) psychological adaptation to material and social environments, and (ii) mental health. LIP-PC2S’s research is organized around 4 axes:1. Clinical and Cognitive Processes2. Social Cognition3. Prevention4. Risk and Adaptation to ChangeThe SYMME laboratory’s activities are largely focused on innovation for healthcare and industrial innovation. At a time when products are becoming increasingly complex, and production processes need to be optimized, the SYMME laboratory is organized to take an overall view of product added value, and to consider the global optimization of a product’s value chain. SYMME’s research focuses on 4 main areas:1. Materials and tools for health2. Materials and systems for energy3. Innovation in industrial and mechatronic systems4. Functional and aesthetic product qualityRECORD is an interdisciplinary health project (psychology and mechatronics engineering) with two objectives:1) To assess the psychometric properties (fidelity, sensitivity, validity of measurement tools) of two body representation assessment tools, already developed in the LIP/PC2S laboratory.2) To develop a body schema rehabilitation tool – virtual reality interface.The post-doctoral student recruited will be able to carry out the experiments to validate tools for measuring body representation (body schema), in both healthy participants or participants suffering from psychiatric illnesses such as anorexia nervosa; and to develop a virtual reality body schema rehabilitation tool.Where to apply E-mailjob-ref-hx8blfi88z@emploi.beetween.comRequirementsResearch Field Psychological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Engineering Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsAccording to the candidate’s academic background (psychology or mechatronics engineering), skills will be expected in:

– the development and validation of measurement tools in psychology,– virtual reality protocols for experimentation with healthy participants and/or patients,– body representation and pathologies,– experimental manipulation of body representation.The candidate must have demonstrated his/her ability to disseminate the results of this research in written and oral communications and must have already published his/her work in international peer-reviewed journals in one or other of the scientific disciplines covered by the RECORD project.Recruitment open to holders of a doctorate from a French university, or a degree recognized as equivalent by the university, in particular a doctorate or PhD from a foreign university.Specific RequirementsTwo workstations will be available for the person recruited in each of the two laboratories of this interdisciplinary project. Depending on the stages of the project, certain parts of the work will have to be carried out in one or other of the two laboratories. Funding is provided in this project for any displacements between the two sites.The co-principal investigator of the project (Luc MARECHAL and Morgane METRAL), together with the engineers from the two laboratories, will be present to support the development of the RECORD objectives and will help the post-doctoral student to set up the experiments.RECORD is an interdisciplinary project that requires iterative and regular interaction between experts in the clinical and technological fields to validate and create medical tools. The two objectives of the RECORD project can only be achieved by combining 1) expertise in body schema disorders and their new assessment tools (LIP/PC2S Laboratory) with 2) the implementation of reference systems and the development of new tools requiring engineering and skills in instrumentation, programming, and dedicated data processing (SYMME Laboratory).
