Offer DescriptionThe EeltinkLab in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the field of proteomics LC-MS profiling. The successful candidate will leverage a state-of-the-art nanoLC-timsTOF Pro-2 platform to perform cutting-edge proteomic analyses. This position (1 up to 3-year appointment) offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with leading academic and industry partners to analyze and interpret proteome-wide changes in complex biological systems.Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and apply LC-MS/MS workflows for proteomic analyses, including label-free quantification and targeted proteomics.
  • Process and analyze proteomics data using bioinformatics tools (e.g., MaxQuant, Perseus).
  • Work on proteomic characterization of biological samples, including tissue, cell lines, or biofluids.
  • Interpret results and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to integrate findings into larger research projects.
  • Contribute to method development for sample preparation, LC optimization, and mass spectrometric data acquisition.
  • Write manuscripts for publication, present findings at conferences, and contribute to grant applications.

  • Experience in quantitative data analysis and protein identification using software tools and workflows.

Preferred:

  • Experience in integrating proteomics data with other -omics (e.g., metabolomics, transcriptomics).
  • Familiarity with programming languages or software for data analysis (e.g., R, Python).
  • Ability to troubleshoot LC-MS hardware and optimize method performance.
