Offer Description
- You will participate in a project that aims to investigate the fusion of innovative low-cost sensors for underground mapping.
- You will be responsible for developing calibration and processing algorithms and characterizing the accuracy and reliability of the produced results.
- Within the project team, you will contribute to the localization of the crawler, needed for automatic detection of piping defects.
- You are expected to collaborate with the project team and the industrial partners.
- You will also have the chance to present the outcomes of your work regularly at international symposiums and conferences, publish research results in indexed journals, and attend training courses and similar events.

Eligibility criteria
- Although not restricted to these, you preferably have a background and a Ph.D. in Geomatics, Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics.
- You show particular interest in applied science-technology, and you have an affinity with quantitative approaches towards data science, including relevant developments in the field of geospatial data processing, photogrammetry, computer vision, and big data/machine learning.
- You have knowledge of fundamental principles, algorithms of computer vision, and machine learning methods.
- You have previous hands-on experience with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technologies, ROS, photogrammetry, and the integration of sensors.
- You are attracted by the prospect of collaborating with experts from different engineering fields and applying AI cutting-edge technology to solve real problems.
- You should be able to show excellent results in prior studies and be fluent in both spoken and written English.
- You have demonstrated the ability to publish scientific articles in top journals and conferences.
- Most importantly, you should share our unbridled enthusiasm for scientific research and have a genius curiosity about discovering emerging technologies in geospatial data analysis.
