Job description

Offer DescriptionThe candidate will be recruited as part of the SunToChem project (Label of Excellence, Normandy Region), which currently includes two researchers on fixed-term contracts with complementary expertise in organometallic synthesis and electrochemistry. This ambitious project aims to develop self-assembled photocatalysts for the reduction of CO2 under visible light. An integrated platform will be established to assemble a photosensitizer, a semiconductor, and/or a co-catalyst, to drive artificial photosynthesis and convert carbon dioxide into high value-added chemicals (CO, HCOOH, CH3OH, etc.).

  • Constantly update the bibliography related to the study topic
  • Study the photocatalytic performance of synthesized photocatalysts through photocatalytic tests and characterizations using time-resolved spectroscopies to analyze the excited states.
  • Assist in selecting the most efficient materials for large-scale production
  • Coordinate work among different researchers (IR and IE).
  • Write work reports and deliverables, and communicate the results obtained through publications, conferences, and/or patents.

The project will take place as part of SunToChem project (Labelle in the Photocatalysis’s group of SpectroCat Team. The work will be carried out at LCS – Laboratoire Catalyse & Spectrochimie ( ) located in Caen (Normandy).
The LCS has built its reputation on the preparation of zeolites and related porous materials, operando spectroscopy and catalysis. Combining very strong poles in synthesis of porous materials and spectroscopy. The selected candidate will be attached to UMR6506.
