Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Portfolio Operations Specialist to join our Schroders Capital Infrastructure Debt Operations team. The successful candidate will oversee the administration of several infrastructure debt funds and related transactions, working closely with colleagues across the Operations and Investment teams, as well as external service providers.

The role offers the opportunity to strengthen the Portfolio Operations team and support the continued growth of the Infrastructure Debt business.

The position is ideal for a motivated individual who wants to take ownership of operational responsibilities, contribute to a strong control environment and play a proactive role in the development of a growing business.

What you’ll do

1. Investment acquisitions and monitoring

• Support the Investment Team with the acquisition of debt transactions.
• Perform eligibility checks and coordinate the necessary approvals for new acquisitions.
• Prepare, coordinate and review investment-related capital calls.
• Execute or assist with the investment settlement process.
• Maintain KYI/AML monitoring processes, including conducting daily World-Check reviews, escalating alerts and producing periodic reports.
• Monitor investment cash flows and resolve calculation or payment discrepancies.

1. Funds oversight, administration and reporting

• Oversee fund NAV production at the required frequency, coordinate with fund administrators and other service providers.
• Review annual and semi-annual financial statements and support or coordinate audit processes.
• Prepare, coordinate, review and validate fund operations, including capital calls, distributions, invoices and management fees.
• Monitor fund commitments, cash flows and operational data in eFront and other internal systems.
• Prepare or review investor, regulatory, performance and ad hoc reports, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Monitor selected tax-related declarations and payment obligations, including VAT and FATCA/CRS, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports for internal stakeholders and investors.

1. Business Support

• Support with the structuring and set-up of new fund structures.
• Contribute to service provider oversight, due diligence, including periodic service reviews.
• Build and maintain a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
• Lead or support ad hoc projects and tasks and respond to internal and external information requests.

1. Contribute to strong controls and governance

• Actively contribute to the improvement of existing operational processes.
• Work with relevant parties to ensure Schroders group policies are adhered to, and existing procedures and practices are refined to reduce operational risk and updated as required.
• Prepare information for internal committees, fund Boards or other bodies, and coordinate for approvals where required.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Business school or university degree.
• Minimum of six years’ experience in the asset management industry, Middle Office, Audit or an Accounting firm.
• Strong level of English and French required.
• Established understanding of private assets investments, fund operations and administration.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

• Experience with closed-ended funds, ideally for at least two to three years; knowledge of open-ended funds or semi-liquid vehicles investing in private assets would be a strong plus.
• Good understanding of investment fund accounting, including local accounting principles, IFRS, NAV production and asset valuation.
• Experience using a transaction monitoring or portfolio management tool, such as eFront, would be a plus.
