Why we need this role:
The Project and Portfolio Delivery (PPD) team work in partnership with the business to deliver projects and portfolios that drive Colt’s success. We are brave in what we do, trusted by the business, and creative in our thinking.
The PPD team are responsible for:

-Process optimisation and re-engineering;
-Business delivery and business acceptance of key
strategic
projects and programmes and training of the operational teams on new technologies;
-The PPD team is organised into key business portfolios, each responsible for project delivery and process transformation;
-The PMO sits within the PPD, guiding the portfolios through the delivery of projects and programmes in line with our project methodologies; the PMO are responsible for providing quality assurance, reports and tools and leading the portfolios through all planning activities.
The role will cover all aspects of Portfolio Management including, Strategy and Portfolio Planning, Project End to End Lifecycle Management, Stakeholder Management, Change Management Team Leadership, all aspects of the Project Review cycle, Governance and Financial Management with particular emphasis on achieving Sponsor satisfaction.
What you will do:
Stakeholder Management
• Develop, streamline, and nurture key relationships with all project stakeholders, overseeing and coordinating:
• Become the strategic delivery partner of the portfolio business area, keeping them updated on all project delivery milestones and any changes to the project roadmap.
Governance and Financial Management
• Responsible for the portfolio’s budget forecast v actual, ensure portfolio progress aligned to the planned forecast, and produce reports and KPI as appropriate. Work with the business area to achieve any budget challenges or changes and ensure that any portfolio over-spend or under-spend is dealt with appropriately. Provide a mechanism to review the project benefits with the Finance Business partner to track them post project completion.
• Lead portfolio progress reviews to give stakeholders confidence (Project Boards, Steer Cos and other Management Boards Committees) that projects will deliver to time, budget and agreed standards;
Portfolio End to End Lifecycle Management
• Oversee the project management of the projects and programmes in the portfolio, from inception through to handover to business, ensuring the delivery of specified products and services within agreed time, quality and cost parameters. Ensure that project and programme managers:
Change Management
• Prepare, equip and support the Business function to successfully adopt change in order to drive organizational results and outcomes.
Team Management
• Ensure all team members have clear goals and objectives and are performance managed. Also ensure that career management conversations are held regularly to ensure team understands how to progress their career in Colt.
What we’re looking for:
-Demonstrable experience in developing project specifications, agreeing project plan baseline including scope, key activities, deliverables, resource requirements, milestones, and deadlines
-Candidates should have a track record of successful management and delivery of Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies projects as well as experience of successful partnership working, relationship development and management
-Experience of using a range of project management tools and techniques including agile and lean as well as experience of working within a complex organisation
-Excellent communication skills with clarity and confidence at all levels; adapts style and content to the needs of the audience
-Extensive project team leadership e.g. implementation managers, engineers/technicians, analysts and other subject matter experts and mentor project managers and oversee delivery of projects
-Strong planning skills including critical path and dependency management
Qualifications
APM (Association for Project Management), PRINCE2, Agile or other industry recognised project management qualification or equivalent
Desirable (skills, experience, qualifications)
-Experience in business transformation is desirable
-Knowledge of IT stack build and OSS structure
-Worked in a virtual team across various time zones and geographies
-Worked in a Technology transformation organisations
-Up to speed on latest industry and market developments & technology.
-Certified Agile Leadership (CAL)
-Scrum Master certificate.
