Policy AdvisorEurEau – European Federation of National Association of Water ServicesBrussels, BelgiumEurEau is looking for a Policy Advisor to join our Brussels-based team.EurEau is the European Association of Water Services representing the water & waste water operators from 33 countries at EU level. Through 70.000 utilities – reflecting the full diversity of the European water and sanitation services – EurEau’s members collectively provide water services to more than 500 million people.PROFILE

  • A university degree or equivalent in economics, law, environment or another relevant field;
  • At least 3 years’ demonstrable experience in European policy development, ideally in the water sector;
  • Knowledge and experience of the EU institutions and the EU decision-making process;
  • Fluent English, additional European languages are an asset;
  • Outstanding communication skills; ability to produce high quality written documents for different audiences, ease with speaking in public is a must;
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders and experts.

FONCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the our international team, you will report to the Secretary General;
  • You will work in close cooperation with experts from EurEau member organisations to advance and strengthen Europe’s water legislation;
  • This involves monitoring European legislation and its implementation, analysing legislative proposals, official documents and studies linked to relevant topics;
  • Negotiating water sector positions that reflect our united voice is vital; you should be able to demonstrate experience of building consensus;
  • Developing and executing strategies to advocate EurEau’s position to decision makers, media, stakeholders and within the international network of the organisation;
  • You will actively contribute to the drafting of EurEau’s publications and support your colleagues with relevant tasks within the organisation.

EurEau will issue a full time Belgian contract with up to 2 days/week of remote working.
