For Our Mechelen Coatings plant, which is part of the Advanced Performance Materials Business, we are looking for a new Plant Manager.
The Plant Manager manages the Teflon™ production site in Mechelen and the various departments including production, maintenance, quality, safety and engineering. There are 6 direct and 20 indirect reports in this position.
You will report to the VP Operations for APM, based in the US.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Plant Manager
• Provides strategic direction to all aspects of the Teflon™ production unit. This unit is made up of different parts such as production, maintenance and supply chain.
• Determines the Teflon™-Mechelen vision in collaboration with the Operations Staff group.
• Is responsible for achieving all KPIs related to safety and environment, quality, cost, productivity, supply chain.
• Develops appropriate targets and aligns them with the business goals. Collaborates with the Operations Director, Global Product Manager, the Global Technology Manager and the EMEA Sales Manager.
• Has responsibility for P&L (Profit & Loss) for the unit and ensures that Teflon™ Mechelen is competitive within the Teflon™ network.
• Is responsible for the development of suitable Capex (investment) projects, budgeting and implementation.
• Set expectations and develop a strong safety culture for the unit. Is a leader in Chemours core values.
• Creates a culture of continuous improvement
• Ensures adequate staffing levels and contributes to long-term employee development and succession planning.
• Has responsibility to make the workplace a Great Place To Work and creates an environment of commitment, trust and responsibility.
• Collaborates with other functions within EMEA as well as peers and above in other sites.
• Participates in the Chemours Belgium Management team and collaborates closely with the Country Leader for Chemours in Belgium on Service Level Agreements and Growth projects.
• Builds strong relations with the unions and employee representatives and is the chairman of the CPPW (Committee Prevention and Protection at Work)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

Master’s degree, preferably as an engineer (civil, industrial, commercial,…) or equivalent through experience.

Approx. 5 years of experience as a supervisor or project manager

Strong communication and leadership skills

Excellent people management skills

Is proactive and can think strategically

Literate in finance and accounting (P&L responsibility), as well as a strong feeling with regulatory

Experience with budgeting (PO process) is a plus

Speaks and writes English fluently

Travel is limited (10-15% a year), mainly to the Netherlands or Wilmington, Delaware, US.

€93,360.00 – €145,875.00
