In this full-time, permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of physically literate individuals. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating PE lessons, fostering a love for sports and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices in students of all abilities.Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the PE curriculum across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Creating a dynamic and well-resourced learning environment that promotes participation, teamwork, enjoyment of physical activity, and a foundation for lifelong health.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the PE curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school’s vision, national requirements, and incorporates contemporary advancements in physical education.
  • Building strong relationships with students, fostering their confidence in physical activity and encouraging them to develop their skills and sporting potential.
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure inclusivity within PE lessons.
  • Organizing, leading, and coaching extracurricular sports clubs and teams, providing opportunities for students to participate in competitive sports and further develop their skills beyond the classroom.
  • Participating in departmental and whole-school events, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified PE teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students in physical activity.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of sports and movement in all students, regardless of ability.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective PE lessons that promote enjoyment, challenge students, and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a healthy competitive spirit within a supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
