Senior Photonics Designer
Spain, Onsite working position

As a Senior Photonics Designer you will design optical circuits for next-generation programmable integrated photonics. The job involves the design, simulation and layout generation of components and advanced circuits.

Responsibilities:
•Passive & active photonic device design, simulation, and layout using state-of-the-art modeling and layout tools
•Test and characterization definition of building blocks and circuits.
•Interacting with partners (foundries)
•Translate requirements into photonic IC designs
•Project lead and management.
•Interact with the different departments to ensure measurability and future system integration.
•Identify trends and customer needs for programmable photonics.

To be considered for this position you will need the following:
•Ph.D (or Master’s) in Telecommunication Engineering, Physics or a related discipline with an emphasis on Integrated Photonics, with direct experience in Silicon Photonics device design
•Direct experience in design flow and layout scripting
•Reliable, pro-active and self-motivated. Good communication skills.
•Fluent in English.
•Tape-out experience with at least one Silicon Photonic foundry, and its PDK
•Experience with passive and active integrated optics, such as edge coupler, optical splitters and phase shifter
