EDENT1FI is an EU-wide consortium of leading partners in the field of T1D, that aims to transform the unmet need in T1D care through systematic implementation of a combined immune/metabolic screening platform for detection and staging of T1D risk. The expected impacts and outcomes of the project are: Early diagnosis of pre-clinical T1D, with guidance for management, resulting in reduced disease severity at diagnosis, as well as develop and implement a roadmap for preventive and disease modifying therapies for T1D.
Being a central part of this initiative, you will have the opportunity to expand your network across both the industrial and public partners involved in this collaboration.The position
The position is of three years’ duration starting preferably May 1, 2025 and mainly based at the Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, Herlev, with Prof. Dr. Flemming Pociot. The position will also require some work responsibilities at the other Steno Centers in Denmark located in Aalborg, Aarhus, Holbæk, and Odense.Your responsibilities
Lead in establishing a program for early detection of type 1 diabetes in Denmark with special focus on developing a personalized approach for follow-up on people testing positive for T1D associated autoantibodies.
Main contact in Denmark to overlook and address all laboratory-, logistical- and technical-demands for the European islet autoantibody screening EDENT1FI.Necessary skills and qualifications

  • You are a medical doctor with a strong interest and expertise in communication with patients, preferably with pediatric experience.
  • Have special interest in endocrinology.
  • Experience in communicating research results.
  • Can navigate in REDcap and minSP.
  • Speak and write fluent Danish and English.
  • On a personal level, you have strong collaborative skills. You are well-organized, capable of working independently and with a strong personal drive and dedication.
