Job Description:Are you intrigued by the many fascinating properties and advanced uses of polymers and elastomers? Are you looking to establish yourself as a scientist? Then look no further!At the Danish Polymer Centre at the Technical University of Denmark, we are currently seeking a Ph.D. candidate to join a Novo Nordisk Foundation-funded project, “Soft wearables with high energy density: merging chemical biology and silicone chemistry with compliant active devices (WeArAble).Responsibilities and qualifications
The project’s focus will be the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel silicone polymers and elastomers. Tasks include synthesizing and preparing silicone polymers and elastomers and chemical, mechanical, and dielectric characterization.We are looking for you who can work independently and in collaboration with colleagues and has excellent oral and written English skills. You should strive towards scientific excellence and be ambitious and hard-working.As a requirement, you must have previous experience in silicone polymer and elastomer synthesis and characterization.You have experience or background within one or preferably more of the below-mentioned areas:
- Organic and polymer synthesis
- Characterization of polymers, including spectroscopical techniques
- Thorough knowledge of advanced NMR techniques
- Thorough knowledge of organic synthesis in emulsions
- Have an MSc background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science
You must have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.Approval and Enrolment
