The Institute of Product Life Cycle Management

The Institute of Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) is part of TUDa’s Mechanical Engineering department. The department is located at the idyllic campus “Lichtwiese”, which is surrounded by nature, allowing walks with coworkers in the forest and fields during study breaks. At PLCM our focus areas in teaching and research are Advanced Systems Engineering, Digital Twins and Data-Driven Sustainability. In addition to our research fields, our areas of expertise are Virtual Product Development, Additive Manufacturing, Industrie 4.0 and IT-Security.

To expand our team, we offer the position of Research Associates (PhD Candidate). The full-time position will be paid according to the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service of the Länder TV-L E13.

Your Tasks

  • Independent work on research projects in the areas of Advanced Systems Engineering, Digital Twins and data-driven sustainability. 
  • Participation in the student education.
  • Publication in scientific journals and presentation at international conferences.

Your Qualifications

  • A successfully completed university degree (master´s degree, diploma) in “Mechanical Engineering”, “Industrial Engineering”, “Mechatronics”, or “Computer Science”.
  • Strong interest in independently investigating scientific issues and working in an interdisciplinary and international team.
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in German and English.
  • Knowledge in the in the field of computer aided design and virtual product development.
