Research is concentrated on finding ways to reduce crime, drawing upon a variety of disciplines across the social, physical and life sciences.The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber-Physical Risk is a national centre of excellence led by the UCL Department of Security and Crime Science and the UCL Department of Computer Science. Starting in September 2025, the Centre will be a research training hub where 50+ students will develop as interdisciplinary leaders in the fight against hybrid threats. In partnership with defence and security agencies in central London, this centre will play a pivotal role in accelerating the supply of experts qualified in anticipating and managing threats from criminal groups and foreign states across cyber and physical spaces. Beyond technical expertise, the Centre will help students and partners develop an acute awareness of the wider issues and dilemmas posed by all such work in democratic societies.About the role Under the direction of the Research Finance Officer and in conjunction with the Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training, the Strategic Alliances Director, the Graduate Research Tutor and other relevant staff, the postholder will provide specialist administration to the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber-Physical Risk and the Doctoral student activities.
