At Bending Spoons, we’re obsessed with creating a workplace where our colleagues can thrive, and our People Operations team goes all out to help each one be healthy, happy, and productive.

A few examples of your responsibilities

  • Organize and take charge of company-wide events and team-building activities (from the brainstorming phase to research, logistics, and on-site inspections).
  • Manage business travels for the entire company.
  • Support the team in organizing recruiting events.
  • Organize events for Spooners and their families.
  • Propose initiatives to develop the company culture.
  • Be the point of reference for all types of requests, ensuring everything works smoothly for our on-site and remote Spooners.
  • Provide support to new Spooners with relocation and during their onboarding.

What we look for

  • Organization and structure. You’re meticulously organized and superbly structured, so you can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities with poise and precision.
  • Ability to relate with others. A key part of the role requires interfacing with lots of different stakeholders—meaning that you’re unfailingly patient, kind, and reliable.
  • Curiosity and initiative. Rather than waiting to be told what to do, you’re forever hunting down new opportunities and testing fresh ideas. You’ve consistently and actively participated in independent projects, and you’re an endless source of innovative ideas.
  • Reasoning and depth of learning. You learn new concepts and skills rapidly, delving into new topics with a structured approach and a curious mindset. This is demonstrated by how quickly you mastered new tools when you first encountered them, and by how you used creative problem-solving to face cross-disciplinary problems.
  • Fluent English and Italian. You can read and write fluently both in English and in Italian.
  • You live in Milan, or are ready to relocate. This position requires you to work in Milan most of your time.

What we offer

  • An exceptional opportunity for growth. The majority of new Spooners didn’t expect to be trusted with so many responsibilities right from the start—and to be able to leverage them to explore the full extent of their potential. You’ll immediately start working in small, results-driven teams alongside some of the brightest people in your field. You’ll see Spooners in their 20s leading businesses worth hundreds of millions. And if you’ve got what it takes, you’ll soon be playing an essential role in major projects. We also do everything we can to offer a comprehensive spectrum of learning opportunities. Nothing but your drive, passion, and talent will determine how much and how fast you can grow.
  • All. These. Benefits. Flexible hours, unrestricted remote working from European timezones, unlimited backing for learning and training, top-of-the-market health insurance, a highly supportive relocation package, generous parental support, and yearly retreats to stunning locations. We encourage Spooners to use these benefits and many more to create the conditions to do their best work.
  • Competitive salary and stock options. Our compensation packages are designed to attract and retain the best talent in the industry. Compensation can grow rapidly as the individual accumulates experience and translates it into greater and greater impact. You also have the option to receive some of your pay in company ownership (equity) at a discounted rate. Also, Italy grants individuals willing to relocate a 50% tax exemption on Italian-sourced income.

Before you apply

Thanks for taking the time to read this far. We’d be delighted if you decide to apply, but ask that you first consider the following:

Bending Spoons is an extremely demanding environment. We’re highly ambitious and we ask a lot of ourselves and our teammates, so you’re likely to work harder here than at most companies, and to regularly push yourself beyond your comfort zone. While this tends to drive tremendous learning and lead to fantastic achievements, it can also be stressful.

We’re uncompromising on our standard of excellence. The vast majority of Spooners stay for years and have amazing careers here. However, it can also happen that an individual doesn’t contribute at the rate we look for. In such cases, we support the Spooner in their efforts to make the necessary improvements, but will counsel them to leave if they don’t manage to do so.

We’re proud of the company we’ve built, and many of us can’t imagine working anywhere else. Still, we understand that a career at Bending Spoons isn’t for everybody. We hope what you’ve read here helps you determine whether it might be the place for you. If you believe it is, then we encourage you to apply—and perhaps discover what you’re truly capable of!

The selection process

If you successfully pass through our screening process, we’ll invite you to take on a few tests that assess how you approach and solve unfamiliar problems. If you’re successful there, we’ll invite you to take part in some interviews. We welcome applications in English and Italian. Bending Spoons is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. We consider for employment all applicants and we provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, which can be requested at [email protected]. Studies suggest that women tend not to apply for a job if their CV isn’t a perfect fit. Here, we look for talent and potential—not just experience and expertise. So if you like the role and think you could be awesome at it, go ahead and apply.
