P&C Reserving Actuary Intern

This position within a leading Reinsurer is an opportunity to join an actuarial team to work on a digitalization project, making an impact in the day-to-day life of the team. Within the EMEA P&C Reserving team, this position will give you the chance to apply Actuarial knowledge to day-to-day operational reserving analyses. You will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and multi- cultural environment. You will start with getting knowledge of SCOR portfolios and processes before participating to 2Q2025 closing activities. As part of SCOR’s Reserving and Economic/Capital Performance department (RECP), the team manages and oversees the EMEA P&C Reserving activities in all its dimensions (Reserving and resilience strategy, modelling excellence and risk assessment cycles, quarterly closing analysis, governance and regulatory activities, feedback loop with P&C stakeholders, Reserving quarterly and annual process reengineering,RECP and global initiatives/working groups). The team works very closely with P&C Business functions (Pricing and Modelling, Claims, Underwriting), Risk functions (Group Reserving, Risk management and Risk modelling) as well as other Finance functions.

The P&C EMEA Reserving team is made of 10 people and manages large portfolios of SCOR with worldwide exposure and all lines of business, therefore it gives a good overview of a reinsurance company. You will work on a strategic project to support the local actuaries in their quarterly closing activities.

Under the management of the Head of EMEA P&C Reserving, the main tasks of the traineeship are:

• Contribute to the 2Q2025 quarterly technical closing (in both IFRS17 and Solvency II).
• Participation to the enhancement of the current closing tool.
• Contribute to the development of a digital and automated solution for the closing tool to unify local approaches and reduce operational risk.
• Communicate and lead training sessions on the developments implemented to Reserving actuaries.

• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills in both French and English.
• Able to apply common sense and sound basic judgment in day-to-day activities.
• An outgoing nature, and the willingness to belong to a larger team.
• A personality capable of working efficiently across cultural boundaries.

Digital Competencies:

• IT Development experience required (Python).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Power BI).

Required Education:

• Master’s student in actuarial science, data science, engineering, or equivalent.
