To succeed with our strategic ambitions, Maersk Air Cargo (MAC) plays a vital role in offering cargo transport by air for customers globally.Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Functional Lead:
- Take ownership of end-to-end Payroll processes (incl. approval flow) to deliver stable, efficient, and timely Payroll operation to employees for all entities incl. pilots, mechanics, back office, etc.
- Partner with leaders, HR colleagues, Union reps, and relevant external advisors to resolve employee relations issues.
- Stay up to date with local employment law landscape to ensure local compliance.
- Handle social security coverage (A1) for employees abroad.
- Build and maintain a strong and smooth collaboration between HR, Payroll, and Finance.
- Apply for and ensure company refunds at Virk.dk and occupational injuries registration.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws concerning e.g. vacation, social security, parental leave, GDPR, per diems etc.
- Providing a stellar employee experience by developing an operationally excellent and compliant Payroll function in collaboration with HR and Finance colleagues.
- Systematise, optimise, and automate manual processes.
- Keep a track record of documentation on e.g. sick leave, parental leave, A1 coverage etc.
The candidate will, as the title suggests, act as the functional teamlead for their payroll team supporting their frontline.The job also consists of occasional registration and upload of absence in their Payroll system along with general handling and guiding of employees on leave & absence queries. Furthermore, you and the rest of the payroll team will reply to questions from employees in a joint Payroll inbox. Other tasks will be to provide and secure reconciliations and controls, as well as controlling of salary data before pay slips are produced and across months.Mærsk Air Cargo are currently implementing new IT systems and processes related to payroll (e.g., Lessor, Workday) and expect to be done in roughly 1 year. By that time, it is likely that the Mærsk Air Cargo organization will move from their current offices in Nordhavn towards their other colleagues in Mærsk HQ by Esplanaden.What do we expect from you? Experience with/knowledge of the following is a requirement:
- Experience with taxation, social security coverage abroad (A1), per diem etc.
- Knowledge of 3-part salary reconciliation (lønarter, finans, e-indkomst).
- Familiar with applicable data protection and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR).
- A resilient personality that can cope with organizational complexity, change, and an HR set-up that is still being implemented.
To succeed in this role, you also need to have extensive experience working hands-on with Danish salary from A to Z for employees on collective bargaining agreements, shift workers, and salaried employees (funktionærer). This includes experience with collective bargaining agreements, local agreements, Danish Vacation Act, Danish Tax Assessment Act (§33A, §9A and §53A), and Danish Salaried Employees Act.You will communicate with both Danish and English stakeholders – written and oral – and it is therefore a requirement to have a professional understanding of both languages.What Mærsk offersTo work at Mærsk is to work with the world.
