Today, we successfully launched our first innovative product in the United States and Germany, and we are on the verge of rapid expansion in Europe. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the launch of our endocrinology pipeline and make significantly impact to our commercial expansion.

We are seeking a passionate Patient Journey Specialist (PJS) to join our rapidly expanding global commercial organization. As PJS you are responsible for identifying and developing relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), educating about the disease states and supporting activities aimed at improving diagnosis and patient management within the Ascendis Pharma pipeline.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new established Italian affiliate and to become part of a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional, global teams working together to achieve extraordinary results.

You will be joining the Italian team consisting of a handful passionate and skilled colleagues. The number of colleagues is budgeted to grow significantly in 2024 and 2025.

The position reports directly into the Medical Affairs Director, Italy.

Your key responsibilities will be

• Act as the field-based medical representative for Ascendis Medical Affairs, promoting the company’s presence in the scientific community and increasing disease awareness in relevant therapeutic areas.
• Identify and engage with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key organizations to foster collaborative relationships and support patient care initiatives.
• Deliver medical and scientific presentations to stakeholders, and provide support at medical congresses and other events, including onboarding and training for colleagues.
• Gather and share insights on disease states, the Ascendis portfolio, and competitor activities with internal teams.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships, support the development and implementation of strategic goals, and maintain high medical expertise while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and corporate policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in a pharmaceutical company as Field Clinical/Medical Role with minimum a Master ’s degree in the Health Science Field
• Pediatric endocrinology, endocrinology or rare disease experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills with a high capability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and clinical information in virtual and live settings is required, in both Italian and English.

Travel: This is a field-based position, estimated travel is >-80%
