About the Pathways Program
Pathways is a three-year program designed to rapidly develop experienced MBA and Masters-level graduates with the skills needed to be Amazons next Senior Operations Managers and beyond. This is the opportunity to chart your own course. Pathway’s members are highly visible to senior leadership through an exclusive mentoring network. They have flexibility with changing roles, sites and geographies. Through a series of intense, progressively challenging opportunities in our best in class operations network, we will stretch your leadership capacity to its full potential. The business lessons you learn and credibility you develop will set you up for accelerated career growth and prepare you for future leadership opportunities within Amazon Operations and beyond.
Your development in the Pathways Program
Step 1:
Extended onboarding as an Area Manager (front line leader) until you successfully managed your first peak holiday season. Learn about Amazon Operations from A to Z and lead a team of 50-100 people.
Step 2:
Once onboarded, you progress into your role as Operations Manager and will gain experience in leading other managers and approx. 400 team members. Drive improvements in operational processes by working cross-functionally with Amazon technology- and engineering teams.
Step 3:
Promote to a Senior Operations Manager where you will lead through others to execute regional or network wide initiatives. With your promotion you will graduate from the Pathways Program but continue to have access to important mentoring resources.
We are currently hiring for several start dates between February and July 2025.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead other managers and teams
Motivate your team with responsibility for planning and effective allocation of resources during the peak season
Lead improvement projects (Kaizen) to streamline activities and to continually enhance delivery performance and quality for our customers
Maintain Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on site
Being accountable for setting and meeting operational goals, strategic planning and forecasting
Collaborate with all support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance and Human Resources, to develop plans to meet business objectives

Basic Qualifications
Basic qualifications are required to apply for a position at Amazon.
You have graduated or plan to graduate with an MBA/MSc/MEng/PhD in 2022-2025 and are available for full-time work in 2025
Between 3 and 10 years of complex professional experience (excluding internships and work studies) with responsibility for project management and delivery
Very good command of English and the language within the country you are applying to (CEFR B2)
You delivered complex projects, where you have been required to engage teams and leadership to deliver on business initiatives or goals
Stakeholder management skills at varying levels of seniority
Analytical skills and sound business judgment
Flexibility to work in shift patterns which may include nights and weekends
You are flexible to relocate for the position

Demonstrable leadership ability in a managerial position
Professional experience in engineering, management, logistics, manufacturing, science or similar field
Strong decision-making skills, enabling you to use sound reasoning as and when required
Previous experience in setting, monitoring and improving KPIs, or similar metrics
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen techniques and methodologies
