The role & Department

As an Outsourcing Manager, Development Strategic Sourcing you will manage and advise on the end-to-end contracting & outsourcing process parts of the clinical development areas with external service providers. The role will improve values, minimize risk & cost, ensure quality, and create scalability in a dynamic and growing business demand setting.

Key Responsibilities Include

Managing the request for outsourcing process and the vendor evaluation

Enabling the vendor selection

Driving the contract process (initiation, negotiation, execution, and scope changes) for monetary agreements i.e., task orders/statement of works and change orders and being involved in the master services agreements lead by senior team members

Managing, under supervision, vendor governance including performance management e.g., contract issue escalation and resolution as well as risk mitigation and process optimization, identify improvement and trending activities for better collaboration with the provider

Supporting, category strategies within area of responsibilities

Contribute, under supervision, to the development, implementation, and maintenance of outsourcing strategies within the assigned service categories.

Furthermore, this role will take part in the further development of the global outsourcing, contract management and vendor governance processes together with the entire R&D Contract Management team and stakeholders in R&D, Legal, IT, Finance, Compliance, QA, and Procurement.

Requirements

Advanced degree in life sciences/healthcare or business is preferred

Fluent English (oral and written)

≥ 5 years’ experience from clinical and/or drug supply in the bio-pharmaceutical industry or from a contract research organization or other relevant providers preferably in outsourcing, vendor- or contract management

Negotiation and vendor management experience

Knowledge and understanding of drug development

Experience with working in a matrixed business environment, handling multiple commitments and stakeholders while prioritizing conflicting demands, maintaining focus on the objective, and providing high quality service to both internal and external collaborators

International experience is preferred

Skills and personal competencies

Skilled communicator with the ability to consolidate and convey information with a clear voice

Experience with creating and delivering effective oral presentations

Good stakeholder leadership skills, including building trusting relationships

Active listener with excellent analytical and documentation skills ensuring attention to detail and the highest level of accuracy

Solution-driven and a dedicated colleague with a pragmatic business approach and thrive with managing a wide range of stakeholders and tasks

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description

This role can be located in Copenhagen, Denmark, or Princeton, US and is hybrid.
