As a key member of the Operational Technology (OT) team, you will be responsible for advancing the capabilities and performance of network infrastructure within the ADM OT/Process Automation (PA) environment.
You will work closely with OT engineers and PA engineers, and partner with key business segments, Global Technology (GT), and your global OT peers to provide enhanced plant support and high-quality project delivery.Job Responsibilities:
- Create innovative network engineering solutions and designs within defined standards and architectures, ensuring that designs work holistically within larger solutions and existing infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations. Create and update standard operating procedures for network implementations.
- Analyze network switch discoveries and system designs, creating integrated network designs aligned with standards.
- Design, enhance, and manage the networking component in MDF and IDF closets, addressing cabling, racking, and power systems.
- Develop build instructions and Low Level diagrams (rack elevation drawing, full connection path to each endpoint on the network, IP Address, switch specific configuration information, fiber pair for process, and port/cable numbers or labels for each device) supporting third-party vendors and operations teams in implementation of network infrastructure.
- Liaise with third party vendors when appropriate to create engineering solutions to review and implement those solutions as well as continuous improvement proposals.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443) where applicable.
- Utilize real-time network monitoring tools to monitor the performance of OT networks, troubleshoot issues and optimize network performance for efficiency and reliability.
- Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements.
- Manage effective network security and implement firewall rules and changes as needed.
- Develop and implement a patch management strategy for OT network devices and ensure timely application of these security patches to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Participate in internal and external audits of OT network security.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans for OT network infrastructure and ensure timely recovery in the event of network failures or cyber security incidents.
- Coordinate with GT network engineers to ensure seamless integration between GT and OT networks.
- Conduct capacity planning and lifecycle management for seamless hardware, firmware, and software service.
- Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activities.
- Carry out continuous personal development, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date and non-technical skills are gained and improved.
- Provide local support for production facilities, including limited PC/end-user support, emergency fixes, and planned installations.
- Some travel and on call are expected as part of this position.
Required Skills:
- Ability to speak English fluently in a professional work environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologies
- Strong understanding of switch programming and commands.
- Heavy experience in network architecture design and development, both physical and virtual.
- Strong understanding of OT network communication protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC, OPC UA, and PROFINET).
- Highly motivated, self-starter.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional global teams.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment; willingness to learn new skills and take direction from other team members; and ability to organize information and manage time efficiently.
- Experience in supporting plant operations and 24/7 operating requirements.
- Experience of working as a technology generalist with a high-level understanding of end-to-end solutions including infrastructure, applications, databases, networking, and security.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a technical area (computer science, engineering, etc.).
- Minimum of Cisco CCNA level certification is required.
Required Experience:
- 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level technology operations and services.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
