DHL Supply Chain Benelux is constantly expanding and is supporting current and new customers to grow and professionalize their supply chain in our existing and new locations. To support our growth in Belgium and The Netherlands we have an open position for an Operations Manager Projects.This is what you will do as an Operations Manager ProjectsYou will be mainly working on large logistical renewal projects with a big change factor, and on the implementation of new customers, working close together with IT, Engineering and Project management.Main responsibilities:

  • Operational implementation of new customer (contracts) according to the agreed BCA to achieve positive start-up performance
  • Sense check if the project team and operation is staffed adequately for the task at hand.
  • Define operational processes in early stage of project
  • Act as the daily operational contact person for the Project Manager and Operation
  • Maintain a close customer relationship and act as general operational point of contact for the customer during implementation
  • Participates in project team meetings to report and discuss work in progress and findings
  • Lead/support (depending on size/complexity) the Operations work stream of the project and define and lead implementation work plan/schedule, define/execute tasks, complete deliverables, coordinate staffing and monitor and report results
  • Ensure the standardization principles are applied during project and in place before start-up (i.e. standards used, stick as close as possible to the standard WMS setup, Ensure Basics are in place like productivity management and performance dialogs)
  • (Coordinate) training and support the new operations team
  • Closely follow up User Acceptance Testing, identify issues and prioritize fixes in function of risk for go live.
  • Identify (operational oriented) risks and implements risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Act as operational support to ensure a smooth operation after go live (hypercare) and work towards a smooth handover to the regular business (usually 1-2 months post go live)

  • A full-time position with a good starting salary between €4000,- and €6500,- per month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree/experience level in Operations Management
  • English and Dutch both spoken and written
  • Experience in set-up and leading (large) operational teams
  • Proven track-record in achieving successful logistics operations
  • Affinity for conceptual thinking in setting up best in clase warehouse processes
  • Inspiring , charismatic and target driven people manager
  • Willing to travel (scope is Benelux)
  • Flexible in irregular working hours (depending on project)
  • Team-player
  • It is to your advantage to have worked with our standard WMS (JDA, also known as Blue Yonder) or as a minimum a demonstrated affinity with WMS processes and good warehouse practices
