Our strategy is to reduce emissions from power generation with a road map aiming at achieving climate neutrality by 2050.Job DescriptionThe Business Unit Solar & Batteries (BU SoBa) operates within Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind, which oversees Vattenfall’s renewable activities in Wind, Solar PV, and Battery Storage. BA Wind develops, constructs, and manages renewable generation across Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.BU Solar & Batteries is responsible for all large-scale solar and battery development and has its purpose to enable fossil freedom through profitable solar and battery assets. To achieve this, BU SoBa is active across the entire value chain, from early-stage development through to operations. Within BU SoBa, the Operations analyst plays a vital role in the Asset management team, maximizing revenues from stand-alone and hybrid park operations and supporting project development with quantitative & model based analysis.As an Operations Analyst, you will optimize Solar & Battery asset revenues by generating reports, analyzing performance, and identifying revenue gaps. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll drive operational improvements aligned with market trends and support model enhancements based on operational insights.Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Generating revenues & operational overview via available tools (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Analysing actual revenues vs. expected revenues
  • Running root cause analysis of revenue deviations from plan
  • Proposing operational improvements towards Asset owners and Trading teams
  • Turn data from big data pools from operational assets to actionable insights
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align operational practices with market trends and enhance revenue generation strategies.
  • Collaborating with Engineering and Operations teams to bring revenues trading strategies in context of technical limitation

Location: The role will be based in one of BA Wind’s main locations in Hamburg (Germany), Berlin (Germany) or Amsterdam (Netherlands). Regular travel will be required to other Vattenfall offices.QualificationsYour Profile

  • Experience: experience in regulatory affairs, energy policy, or related fields, ideally with a focus on German energy markets and renewables. Previous engagement with regulatory bodies or lobbying activities is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Economics, Energy Policy, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Skills:
  • Academic degree of a relevant discipline, such as IT, economics & engineering, mathematics, physics, or similar
  • Knowledge of the European energy markets is a plus
  • Knowledge of battery & solar technology is a plus
  • Knowledge of dashboarding & monitoring systems of operational assets is a plus
  • Relevant experience within a similar field
  • Expertise in quantitative methods
  • Advanced programming knowledge – Python is must have
  • Your command of English is strong, both verbally and written
  • You enjoy working in a cross-functional, cross-country, diverse team and have an open and friendly attitude
  • You are passionate for renewable energy
