Job description

  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain the health and performance of OpenShift clusters, ensuring they are scalable, available, and secure.
  • Implement and manage security policies, including user access control (RBAC), network policies, and secrets management, to safeguard the cluster and applications.
  • Set up, maintain, and optimize continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate application deployment and ensure smooth software development workflows.
  • Oversee resource allocation (CPU, memory, storage) across the cluster, including managing namespaces, quotas, and persistent storage to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, EFK stack) to track cluster performance, detect issues early, and ensure system reliability.
  • Develop and implement backup strategies for OpenShift clusters and application data, ensuring effective disaster recovery plans are in place.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with installation, management and upgrade of Openshift clusters.
  • Good Knowledge on Docker and container technologies.
  • Experience/Familiarity with cloud computing services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • Experience with architecting highly scalable and highly available systems.
  • Experience with setting up monitoring, logging and managing backups of an Openshift/Kubernetes platform.
  • Driving and implementing automation of tasks.
  • Good experience with Openshift/Kubernetes security, storage, networking and RBAC.
  • Owning and executing on RCA and post-mortem actions
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff; ability to articulate business issues/concerns with staff, peers, superiors, and outside parties.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Exposure to infrastructure and platform capabilities – container, middleware, messaging, routing components.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to contribute to, and balance delivery against, multiple projects/demands simultaneously.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Good experience with Redhat Openshift
  • Completion of Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge on CI/CD Devops tools (ArgoCD, GitLab)
  • Infrastructure build automation using Terraform.
  • Monitoring tools – Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana
