Senior Data Scientist
Open Innovation Solutions
Homebased
In collaboration with academic partners across Europe, IQVIA has incubated DIGICORE, the Digital Institute for Cancer Outcome Research ( www.digicore-cancer.eu ), a public-private partnership for next-generation real-world evidence and pragmatic trials in precision oncology. This initiative unites 40 research-intensive cancer centers from 18 countries. Recognizing the need for digital interoperability, DIGICORE has developed a core dataset transformed into a common data model for faster precision oncology research, known as the Minimal Essential Description of Cancer (MEDOC).
IQVIA is adopting a unique open innovation approach, allowing multiple technology partners to collaborate with hospitals to develop new solutions using open standards. This approach, as opposed to proprietary technology, aims to foster competitive markets in European digital interoperability.
To strengthen our team in this large-scale collaboration, IQVIA is seeking a Senior Data Scientist. The successful candidate will work with the DigiONE teams to develop and exploit the infrastructure needed to deliver sophisticated analytics. This role involves ensuring that the right data is research-ready at the right time, working closely with the proof-of-concept study delivery team.
This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools and technology capabilities for data access and analysis:
Works with project managers to align local platforms to business priorities ensuring strong customer relationship are maintained.
Collaborates with business representatives and information services staff, conducting high-level investigations on requirements and specification, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities.
Build strong, mutually advantageous relationships with research partner organisations to maximise the opportunities for the development of the infrastructure and governance to support research and innovation.

Ability to propose a data mapping strategy that aligns key elements in national registries with the OMOP data model, considering the data quality, completeness, granularity, and compatibility issues.
Ability to document and communicate the data mapping process and results, such as data mapping specifications, to lead possible cancer OMOP extensions in new therapeutic areas as required (from radiology to surgery, including complex chemotherapy regimens, biomarkers, etc.)
You will bring technical acumen and a pragmatic approached to implementation, working closely with multiple IQVIA technology teams and external vendors to drive common solution development and ensure on-time, on budget deployment.
