Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting new opening for a Network Engineer to support U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS program team.

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and building communications networks. Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. They will also be tasked with coordinating LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies as well as providing innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. The Network Administrator will be tasked with the planning implementation of enhancements and analyzing customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks

  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability

  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

  • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks

  • Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks

  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

  • May serve as a team or task lead

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Security Clearance Required: Secret Security Clearance

  • Education: BA/BS or equivalent, and at least 8+ years of experience

  • Skills and Experience: Knowledge of and experience with Forescout; CISCO ISE.

  • Certification: Must be IAT Level III Compliant (i.e. CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP ) experience with CISCO ISE is preferred

  • Must be able to obtain German TESA

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 – $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
