Role summary
The NDT Technician will be responsible for assessing the quality of Composite Propeller Blades and bearing assembly, Hub LRU complete break down and various OE and R&O components manufactured at Dowty Propellers using various techniques Ultrasonic, penetrant and eddy current.
Essential responsibilities

Production inspection of composite propeller blades using a range of Ultrasonic and Radiographic test techniques.

Complete inspections using hand-held ultrasonic probes as well as automatic inspection equipment in a production environment

Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications/standards and evaluate results

Document all results and findings

Raise any questionable defects, concerns, or uncertainties with NDT cell leader promptly

Engage and work directly with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and NDT Level III personnel to review defects and findings
-
Ensure compliance with all company and statutory procedures, specifications and standards including defined recording and reporting procedures.

Work with other NDT team members to distribute workload according to production throughput and priorities
Qualifications/requirements:

Good communication and writing skills

Good level of mathematical skills

Prior experience of ultrasonic inspection of composites
