Job title:

MSCA postdoctoral researcher 2024 – Dynamical tuning of the thermal conductivity in functional materials

Company:

Job description

call of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) programme (deadline 11th September 2024).The goal of this project is providing a theoretical framework aimed at understanding and controlling the manipulation of heat flux within functional materials. The candidate, if succesful, will work under the supervision ofDr. Riccardo Rurali and will perform numerical simulations in order to devise realistic approaches for the engineering of nanoscale thermal devices to be used in phonon-based logic, energy harvesting, and thermal management. The group of , placed at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB), offers a privileged environment for what concerns atomistic modeling. The activity of the group is equally shared between the development of new algorithms and methods for the calculation of properties of materials and nanostructures and applications in various cutting-edge areas of materials science, particularly heat transport, semiconducting nanostructures, novel functional oxides, and other reduced dimensionality systems. Ongoing projects related to the proposed one are i) Phonon Dynamics as ruling factor for detecting Ultralight Dark Matter with Quantum Sensors; ii) Thermal Transport in 2D materials and interfaces (THER2MAIN); iii) Hybrid and Organic Thermoelectric Systems (HORATES)Share this page
