Job description

Offer DescriptionThe (Madrid) is looking for a candidate to apply to Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships and/or other funding opportunities. We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in bioinformatics and multi-omics analysis. The candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our research lines in diagnostic and therapeutic microbiome applications of the microbiome in infectious diseases and cancer. Our current research is focused on the exploration of diagnostic markers derived from a multi omic analysis of the microbiome, with a special focus on tuberculosis and anal cancer. Additionally, we are investigating the microbiome’s influence on immunotherapy responses in lung cancer following fecal microbiota transplants, and the unique immune responses in people with HIV exhibiting natural control. We are eager to extend these research avenues to include the prediction of Clostridioides difficile recurrences and identifying prognostic markers for Chagas disease. The Applied Microbiome group is a vibrant and interdisciplinary team. Our research spans several critical areas, including strategies for HIV, the microbiome’s role on HIV immunopathogenesis, diagnostic marker identification in HIV/AIDS, and the effects of HIV on aging and disease progression. Additionally, we are active in epidemiology, focusing on early HIV diagnosis and various clinical-epidemiological aspects of HIV, often in collaboration with international cohorts. In the field of cancer, we are exploring the microbiome for cancer diagnostic biomarkers and its potential to enhance immunotherapy treatments. We are proud to offer a dynamic and stimulating work environment with highly productive research lines and a strong emphasis on innovation and clinical translation. We work within an academic hospital setting and actively engaged in projects that bridge the gap between innovation, technology transfer and clinical application.RequirementsResearch Field Computer science Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsRequired Education and Experience Level
