As Process Engineer in our Manufacturing Science & Analytical Technology (MSAT) Cell Culture team, you’ll provide technical support for biologics manufacturing. Your role will focus on the scale-up and tech transfer of commercial and late-stage clinical processes, process validation, regulatory support, and lifecycle management, including the continuous improvement of commercial processes.Main responsibilities:New Product Introductions: Facilitate technology transfers for clinical and commercial manufacturing processes of biological drug substances from development labs to GMP manufacturing with a specific focus on upstream processes.Process Validation: Develop and execute strategies for initial process validation activities, including defining process control strategies and conducting process performance qualification.Process Improvements: Identify enhancements to yield and process robustness and generate supportive data packages to support implementation at manufacturing scale.Commercial Production Support: Provide data monitoring and trending of existing production processes, generate scientific/technical protocols and reports in support of significant changes, and support complex deviations to the production processes by contributing to root cause investigations and process/product impact assessments.Weekend Support System: Participate in the rotational weekend support system in the MSAT cell culture lab.About youExperience: 3+ year relevant industrial experienceSoft and technical skills:In-depth knowledge of cell culture techniques, industrial-scale bioreactors and cGMP/regulatory guidelines.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to solve complex problems and adapt to change.Proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Effective communicator with a positive attitudeInternational mindset and willingness to travel abroad for short-term assignments.Education: PhD in Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering (or equivalent through experience)Languages: Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral. Notions of Dutch and the motivation to develop the language skill further.
