The first period (South) will take place as a residency at , focusing on field research, reflection, and deepening of the project’s content with other resident researchers at Iméra, and institutes and laboratories within the Aix-Marseille University ecosystem. The research project should align with the thematic lines of the “ ” and “ ” programs.The second period (North), characterized by greater mobility, will be dedicated to field research, discussion, and shared project design with TEC/CRIAC in Roubaix and its scientific and artistic partners. Evaluation criteria include but are not limited to:
  • The originality, rigor, risk-taking, and experimental potential of the research project, and its emphasis on collaboration, making the most of opportunities within Iméra’s and TEC/CRIAC’s intellectual communities;
  • The alignment of the project with the research lines of the “Arts & Sciences: Undisciplined Knowledge” and “Necessary Utopias” programs;
  • The interdisciplinary approach, based on proven practice and a project where it is feasible;
  • The candidate’s background.

  • Must not have resided in France for more than twelve months in the three years preceding the call for applications;
  • Must hold a PhD or equivalent;
  • Must have a work contract (permanent or not) at a foreign university or research institution during the residency.

For artists:

  • Must be under a work contract (permanent or not) at the time of the residency;
  • Must not have resided in France for more than twelve months in the three years preceding the call for applications.

  • A completed application form (required fields);
  • A curriculum vitae including a list of publications and/or exhibitions, and artistic achievements;
  • A clearly structured and feasible research project (maximum five pages), followed by a selective bibliography (required for scientists) or a list of artistic and scientific references (required for artists);
  • Optional: A letter of support from a researcher or scholar from Aix-Marseille or a Northern European university and/or a letter of recommendation from a recognized academic or artist in the relevant field.
