This work will contribute to ongoing significant investment in digital technology innovation with small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the northwest of England: The Centre for Digital Innovation (CDI, ). As part of this project, you will work closely with an industry partner and receive support from the CDI team within the School of Computing that is working on R&D challenges that bridge between academia and industry.This opportunity is specifically looking for a candidate who can assist with the design and implementation of a bespoke mobile application. The industry partner is looking to develop a mobile application which can help reduce the cyber-related incidents and also with reporting and follow-up’.This position is offered as part of a programme of opportunities for individuals and will be supervised by a member of the School of Computing CDI team. This opportunity is designed to give participants the experience of contributing to real-world research and development in collaboration with businesses.Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour plus £1.38 holiday payStart Date: 1st October 2024End Date: 6th January 2025Working Pattern: VariedJob DescriptionWe are seeking a talented and motivated Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cyber-security and AI and will play a crucial role in developing mobile applications aimed at reducing cyber-related fraud. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact in the field of cyber-security.· Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications focused on cyber-security and fraud prevention.· Integrate AI and machine learning models to detect and mitigate fraudulent activities.· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.· Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.· Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.· Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency and security.· Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends in mobile development, AI, and cyber-security.
