Job Description: Pastoral Care Worker

Time Commitment: 36 hours/week

Approximate wage: £10 – £12/hour or £18,720 – £20,592

 Reports to: The Trustees and a specified line Manager

We are seeking the services of a vibrant and excited ministry worker who will work across our Church Community in Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall, West Midlands.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading, coordinating and providing the care of the pastoral needs of the congregation and other communities connected with the church.  He or she will be responsible for developing, and training Pastoral Care Teams in line with the overall vision and mission of the church and as directed by the Trustees and the pastors from time to time. 

The job is varied and involves Community building relationships, relieving the pastors of other responsibilities so they can focus on their duties as ministers of religion, providing culturally and spiritually relevant advice and counselling, developing and running community activities that benefit the entire community, promoting charitable giving, working with external agencies, writing reports, facilitating circles and evaluating programmes of work.

A certified training from a Pentecostal Training Institute and the ability to understand, communicate with, and relate well with the needs of African migrants will be an advantage.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends including Sundays
