About the role:We are looking for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Student Services department at our Dunstable campus. As a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Providing a high-quality student intervention provision to address the mental wellbeing of students to improve social, emotional and mental health outcomes for students and for students to thrive in their college life.
  • Supporting and developing learner support strategies through workshops and one to one work.
  • Undertaking holistic assessments of mental health and advise managers accordingly in how to support learners.
  • Where appropriate, working with other internal and external professionals to formulate support plans for learners.

About you:

  • Level 4 or Post-graduate Diploma or in Counselling or Psychotherapy
  • BACP Accreditation or willingness to work towards accreditation
  • Counselling Supervision qualification
  • Recent experience of working successfully with young people and adults in a counselling / early help capacity for a minimum of 3 years
  • Experience of providing counselling supervision to clients
  • Experience of supporting young people in crisis
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications
